A certified personal chef, Heidi was inspired to cook while working at the New England Culinary Institute in Vermont where she was exposed to many foods she never heard of. While living in New York City, she started a small catering business specializing in high-end cocktail and dinner parties. Heidi personalizes her menu for the person who will be eating. Always on the hunt for new flavor profiles, her cooking style is healthy, international comfort food with all the right elements of seasonality, presentation, quality, portion size and balance of flavor and texture.

Living in eastern and western Europe for many years and travelling abroad as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Heidi saw the value in learning from the locals — the technique and methods of preparing simple ingredients, in addition to analyzing exotic and unique ingredients. She is amazed at the endless combinations and likes encouraging others to try new things in a fun and relaxed environment, whether virtually or in-person.

Heidi tries to live by the principle “there is more happiness in giving”. To quote Thomas Keller: “Cooks cook to nurture people.” For Heidi, cooking is a way to bond with people of all ages and backgrounds. In her classes, she enjoys curating an atmosphere for friends to cook and share a meal together and leave with a few more kitchen tips in their back pocket. In the Ratatouille series, she shares her cultural education, combining the culinary arts with lessons of math and science. Homeschoolers are eager to learn in a new environment and by teaching this life skill cooking simple, healthy, high-protein, low-carb meals using readily available ingredients, parents are happy too!
